Curriculum

The entire curriculum of VFP® consists of the following courses:

(Please note that each course follows the next, and must be taken in order. Also, as the founder keeps developing the curriculum, the content of each course is subject to change.)

  1. Overview of Vascular Facilitation Process® and its Application for the Lower Extremity – 6 days
  2. Upper Extremity – 4 days
  3. The Axis – 4 days
  4. Hands and Feet, integration and the graduation – 6 days

In Germany, Upper Extremity and The Axis are taught together!!

Upon completion of all the courses above and the final exam, you will be certified as a VFP® Certified Movement Therapist. You will be able to work as a VFP® Apprentice Movement Therapist after taking the upper extremity course.

Outline of the the Lower Extremity:

  • VFP using sub-talar joint through compression/decompression of posterior tibial artery/veins
  • VFP using knee or heel through palpation of the femoral artery, abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava
  • VFP through palpation of lower extremity arteries
  • VFP through palpation of lower extremity veins
  • VFP through bones of lower extremity
  • VFP through movement of lower extremity
  • VFP integration through palpation of lower extremity veins/bones, and VFP movement
  • VFP self-practice

Outline of the Upper Extremity:

  • VFP using radio/ulnar carpal joint through compression of radial/ulnar arteries/veins
  • VFP through palpation of upper extremity superficial veins
  • VFP through palpation of upper extremity deep veins
  • VFP through bones of upper extremity
  • VFP through movement of the upper extremity
  • VFP integration through palpation of lower/upper extremity veins/bones, and VFP movement
  • VFP self-practice

Outline of the Axis:

  • What is the Axis from VFP’s perspective ?
  • Explanation of the neural cranium, sutures, and Cerebro-Spinal-Fluid (CSF) and its flow
  • VFP using atlanto-occipital joint and atlanto-axial joint
  • VFP through palpation of external jugular vein and its anastomoses
  • VFP through palpation of dural venous sinuses
  • VFP through bones of the Axis
  • VFP integration through palpation of cranial /upper/lower extremity veins/bones, and VFP movement
  • VFP self-practice

Outline of the Hands and Feet, integration, and graduation:

  • Explanation of the carpal and tarsal bones, and sesamoid
  • VFP using carpo-metacarpal joints
  • VFP through palpation of veins in the feet
  • VFP through bones in the feet
  • VFP through palpation of veins in the hands
  • VFP through bones in the hands
  • VFP with movement for the hands and feet
  • VFP integration through palpation of cranial /upper/lower extremity/hands and feet veins/ bones, and VFP movement
  • The final exam and Graduation (Each student is asked to schedule an appointment with Kazutaka Ara for his/her final exam separately)

Eligibility: Bodyworkers who have more than 5 years of experience, for example: physicians, physical therapists, Gyrotonic® Trainers, Pilates Instructors etc. This course requires your ability to explore your body deeply and to have a highly sensitive touch to tailor the individual need of each client; plus, proficient communication skills are essential in order to collaborate with your clients for successful sessions.          

※Due to the fact that the nature of VFP® process requires a commitment to learn the intricacies of the human body, we only accept students who are willing to take the whole education process ( 4 courses) and please be aware that we will ask about your background and intentions for taking the certification.
